ROLE OVERVIEW:

The opportunity exists for an experienced, driven, and organised Communications Manager to join the Performance54 team on a full-time basis to work with its clients based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The desired candidate will be based in KSA with some domestic and international travel required, particularly in order to attend various golf events. Extensive experience in a communications role within the sport industry is essential, while an interest in golf is beneficial.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and spoken English and Arabic and their ability to work across various communications platforms and to handle all forms of modern communications.

The candidate must also be comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently and meeting tight deadlines.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Partnerships Director and Senior Marketing Manager in order to construct communications strategies for its golf clients, designed to support their annual marketing and business objectives
  • Build and deliver communications strategies for both B2C and B2B campaigns, ensuring impressive returns, including:
    • Developing strategies which deliver brand reputation benefits for key clients
    • Developing strategies which drive broad consumer awareness and support other marketing functions in delivering sales and conversions
  • Develop and deliver rapid response plans which take advantage of news trends for the benefit of key clients
  • Liaise internally and with senior representatives of clients in order to provide briefing documentation and other background materials for media facing activities
  • Deliver copywriting for both internal Performance54 and client materials in both Arabic and English, including:
    • Email communications
    • Web stories
    • Social media captions (as required)
    • Internal and external updates and reports
    • Press releases and media materials
    • Media materials (such as advertorials)
  • Develop and integrate key messaging and narrative documentation across projects, ensuring consistent alignment within all comms outputs
  • Develop, manage and maintain a thorough crisis communications strategy and escalation plan for clients, where relevant
  • Liaise directly with a broad base of golf, sports, lifestyle, travel and news media contacts in order to raise interest in and deliver coverage for key Performance54 clients in KSA and internationally
  • Assist with internal communications requirements, as developed by Performance54 Human Resources
  • Manage a newsroom function, including responding to media enquiries and creating miscellaneous materials as required
  • Assume line management responsibility for junior members of staff, as required

 

SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/APTITUDES NEEDED:

  • Knowledge of current trends relating to sports marketing and communications
  • Knowledge of the sport, lifestyle and news media landscapes in KSA
  • Experience in narrative development for brands or events
  • Experience in a consumer communications role for a respected brand, organisation or event, preferably working within sport
  • Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks
  • Administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain records and produce reports

 

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • SAR 21,000 to SAR 27,000 per month, depending on experience
