PUTTING ‘LADIES FIRST’ AT THE ARAMCO SAUDI LADIES INTERNATIONAL

Hundreds of new Saudi women and girls had their first introductions to golf earlier this month, when Golf Saudi successfully launched its first ‘Ladies Day’ at this year’s Aramco Saudi Ladies International.

Building on the success of Golf Saudi’s award-winning Ladies First Club, the event introduced over 1,000 new women and girls to golf through its activities, which included free group golf lessons, live entertainment and complementary food and drinks.

One of those attending for the first time was Shoug Alharbi (pictured below), who felt inspired to continue her golfing journey as a result: “I’m overjoyed. I tried golf for the first time today, and it feels like I’m free, and it’s a lot of fun! I picture myself as a professional golfer in the future. I’m still young, so perhaps not so soon, but I’ll keep practicing because I had a lot of fun today.”

Creating a platform that introduces Saudi girls like Shoug to the sport was made possible through a mix of creative thinking, marketing and promotional activity. Supported by powerful and eye-catching designs too, the Ladies First campaign is continuously attracting new people to try golf for the first time.

With 1,000 women and girls already signed up to Ladies First Club and taking part in its golfing activities, implementing new initiatives such as Ladies Day further supports Golf Saudi’s mission to increase golf participation throughout the kingdom.

Thanks to the success of Ladies Day, more Saudi women and girls are experiencing the sport for the first time, and momentum for golf in The Kingdom continues to build.
