The inaugural Amata Friendship Cup, hosted at the award-winning Amata Spring Country Club near Bangkok, was a unique, world-first tournament, welcoming male and female professionals and amateurs from Japan and Thailand, to compete for their country. The 12-player teams were made up of 5 male professionals, 5 female professionals, 1 male amateur and 1 female amateur, who competed in a series of mixed match-play matches in a three day spectacle of golf. The made for TV event welcomed stars of the game, including Thai legends, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Thongchai Jaidee, Women’s World #1 and 2-time Major champion Ariya Jutanugarn, and Japan’s PGA Tour winner Satoshi Kodaira and LGPA Tour sensation Nasa Hataoka, and was broadcast across south-east Asia via Fox Sports, Golf Network (Japan) and the Golf Channel China. As the exclusive event management agency, Performance54 oversaw the development of the event concept, as well as the end-to-end tournament delivery, including marketing, staging, broadcast, player liaison, ticketing and sponsorship.
